Default June, 2014: Desert Rider

Hi all...

With all of the Star Wars images from the set of the new film being posted online, I think it would be appropriate for a little homage here on the forum! This month's theme: Desert Rider. Your image doesn't have to be an obvious SW reference (i.e. StormTroopers / Sand People), but could be your vision of what you'd hope to see in one of the upcoming films!

-Good Luck!

edit: winners announced!

-Alex

Awards Showcase

Default

Hi everyone. I've been lurking looking at these contests for a while now. Having owned a couple Gnomon DVD's and liking them, I have decided to participate in one of these.
The concept for this image is a lizard like creature, with long sensors sticking out of it's head, which it uses to sense moisture in the air so it may find water in the desert.

Smile Desert Rider by the Air

Hi Guys,

This is my first time to post in this awesome thread. I'm still new in concept art and have been practicing for only 5 months. Here is my first post in this challenge.
My concept here is kinda weird and not ordinary, my vehiclle or ride here is the gravity in this desert place. This is some kind of desert from an alien planet where gravity only affects humans so therefore any other kind of rides here are not possible, only by air.
I hope you like this guys.. Feel free to comment or critique my work so that I can be better. This was just a speed paint I made for a Facebook group I joined in.
I want to be better and to learn more so hopefully you can me advises guys. Thanks a lot!

Default Desert Rider

When I think Desert Rider I imagine someone who patrols the desert keeping it clear of monsters, in this case, a giant sandworm...
