Default July 2010 - The Mountain Temple - WIP

Hey guys, I'm doing this for this month challenge.

As the last one I was late, I'm rushing to finish this.

I'm finishing ZBrush part on mountain and temple. Will start retopo and maps projection today.

It will be low poly. Check out my images:

Comments are welcome!

Thanks! I'm also enjoying your wip, it's very cool already! I have a lot to walk yet...

Everything on ZBrush. Well, did the base mesh of the mountain on Bryce and the temple on 3DsMax, then brought to ZBrush for sculpting.

Good luck for us!

Very nice work!
sounds like people who came in there before were good climbers ^^

Did you use Alphas to make those bricks?

Good Luck for the contest.

Good Luck for the contest.

Most of the bricks were done in a hard way on Max. Once in ZBrush, I smoothed them and create some alphas to add the feel I wanted.

Thanks a lot for your comment!

I'm doing my best, realy need those DVDs to keep studying!

I did some of the cliff sculpting on mine in Mudbox from autodesk. In principle similar to zBrush apparently. The detail on yours is amazing - well done - looking forward to the see the final render

Some tough competition coming up here.

Looks real nice so far, I'm amazed. I'm really waiting for the textures, could be quiet good.

I definitely have to look into zBrush some time soon. I've never really worked with it so far, but putting all the detail in by hand is totally killing me right now.

Good luck for the competition! (and wish me some, too. )

Alex

Thanks Alex! I'm preparing some pictures for the textures. You should take a look into ZBrush, it's amazing! About the details, for me it's quite as yoga, just relaxing... It reminds me from my childhood, fooling around with colored clay... And remember that in ZBrush you can use alphas and textures to add details, it's not "entirely by hands".

I'm teaching ZBrush applied to Quest3d realtime engine at an online course here in Brazil, but only in portuguese, sorry for that... Maybe in the future, if we have lots of foreign people looking for the course, maybe I could translate everything to english...

Best luck for you and to everybody! I think we'll need, because of the short amount of time to finish the images!

Hey you really did a great work!

If you'd take suggestions, I'd say that a view between the one you choosed and the one just before would be perhaps better for lighting and you could see the river down on the right, your temple overwhelming the rest of the scene. That's just my opinion.
I have nothing to teach you ^^.

Let us know if you ever translate your course.

Good Luck again.
