Default Droid WIP (1st 3D scene attemp)

I've been working for about 4 years for a kitchen company doing low poly low quality 3d modelling (sinks, taps, cabinets etc) and have now decided to expand and build my 3d skills. I have no experience in creating 3d scenes, texturing or lighting. I figured that these monthly challenges are a good place to start so I'm more in it to get experience than to win something (although that would be nice ).

I welcome any constructive criticism and advice.

Thanks...

Default Droid Brainstorm

I wanted a simple scene that would be an easy place for me to start that wouldn't be too difficult but would still represent a challenge so here is my brainstorm sketch of what I'm going to attempt.

It's a simple bathroom scene with a toilet and a small bathroom cleaning droid that has to clean a big toilet..... (corny, I know)

Default 1st Scene Brainstorm Render

Here is my first scene setup. Just playing around with camera angles and droid position. I'm going to redesign the face of the droid, it's not working for me.

Nice work guy!
Perhaps adding some pipes on the droid, a light source from the mouth (like in Wall-E). and dirt, water... don't know what you want to do but it can be a cool and interesting UVmap and texturing work. good luck

Wow, thanks for the encouragement. Coming from someone as good as you means a lot (your "keeping cool" entry is absolutely brilliant). And thanks for the ideas, I will definitely try to use them.

Default 2nd Scene Test

I've changed the face (still working on it) and added some basic textures to get a feel for it. I've still got a lot to learn about texturing and lighting.
