Default May, 2009: Griffin

Hi all,

So this month's theme is for my son. His name is Griffin. He's five.
Chances are pretty good that the winners will end up as printed posters in his room if you're cool with that. Not to say that you can't do something scary/intense... it just may not get printed. heh.

Also, I'm open to seeing graphic interpretations of Griffins too, like what you would see in a family crest or tattoo! (hmm).

Hope you all don't mind me picking something personal this month.

Good luck!

edit: winners announced!

Thanks so much to everyone for the wonderful entries this months... really, there were so many great pieces and I very much enjoyed them all!

winners will be contacted via email or PM.

-Alex

Just wanted to enquire about this 2d section of this competition. Are we allowed to use some 3d elements to the overall picture. I mean llike model certain elements in a 3d software such as maya or zbrush but still do a lot of photoshop work to achieve the overall image?
Kinda like the way Aaron Sims does it in his works?

Default The glowworm secret

Okay Alex,

something personal and something young - something griffin - something magic !
Here it is: my GLOWWORM SECRET !
It's about young guys searching and finding their secrets in dreams.
A griffin catches something, the boy catch the treasure.
But its not the end of the story....where to go ?

The young boy an the right side hand is my son, 5 years old.
Hope you like it and it is something for his wall...
