Default April-Grashock_DarkPortal WIP

Here's an occlusion pass of some of the assets I've built so far. Still haven't done any sculpting or texturing.

This is the portal as it stands right now, I haven't done any sculpting, or aging on it yet.

Thanks! Got all my UV's set, and I'm starting on the textureing and sculpting, I'm working more or less with B/W Diffuse maps, I want to see how they get lit before I start adding more colors/splotches to them.

Started some texturing and some lighting tests, still have quite a bit of work to do on the portal shader/texture.

I also tried to implement some forced perspective, it's close, I think I'll have to add some additional elements to the ground before I can get a good since on if it's working or not.

The gradient in the back is there mostly so I can see through the transparency on the portal so I can get an idea of how it's rendering out.

you know what this needs...

the cracks and to show that it was built in chunks of rock...almost like it needs mortar.

Yeah, I was planning to deform the rocks a bit more once I built the back, kinda final touches. As for motar, I have to be careful, working with walls and such in the past, I tend to over do that aspect and get tied down working on it.

Thanks for the ideas!

Wink I can fit in.

This is a great post and makes me think of where I can fit in. I do a little bit of everything mentioned here and I guess I have to find my competitive advantage.

Thanks for that, I'll be working on some more updates, I had a short project to deal with so I sidelined this for a bit. Hopefully I can get the details done before the contest ends >.>
