Default Pen Tablets help

Hello all, i am new to working digitally with drawings and such. I was recently thinking about purchasing a pen tablet so that i may work more on the computer with colors and images. I am not a professional anything but i am interested in going to school for character design and/or storyboarding. I was wondering what you guys think about pen tablets and how well they work, and if you have any further suggestions for me. Thanks

Maybe its just me. but in this case bigger is not better. I like to be able to rest my hand on the desk as I work. if the tablets to big I feel like i'm holding my hand up the hole time.

I have a wacom and it works great
the bigger isn't better atleast not for me
I have an Intuos 9x12 somtimes I think it too big, but it's great for my long strokes
if you went with the one below it the 6x11 I imagine you would just as happy
if your going to be drawing a lot then try and buy a glove so youre hand can slide easier over the tablet
even if you're not a professional your hand sticking to the board isn't fun
