Default March, 2009: Incubator

Hi all...

And the March 3D theme is... Incubator.

This, of course, could be used to incubate just about anything... alien lifeforms, genetic mutations, etc. Have fun and... Good Luck!!

edit: winners announced!

winners will be contacted via email or PM.

Well... actually I intended not to participate this month and spend the little time I have with my girlfriend, but I think I won't be able to resist

Poor girl, always has to suffer...

And once again: "Good luck and have fun everyone!"

Greetings,
Alex

Hmm, Easter's coming, so I might have chocolate bunnies hatching from candy eggs......because we all know that's where they come from.

So THAT is where they come from! I've been speculating about that for years now...
Thank you, man!

Just one more question, where do the chocolate Santas come from then?

I'm most probably gonna have a chicken egg incubator with a little twist

Greetz,
Alex

Hey, very nice for an early render/WiP.

I finally had an idea, and did a thumbnail sketch for the composition, and hopefully the final image turns out as i imagine it to be. Just hard to find the time, i have booked a week off work, maybe i can do some then.

Awesome topic! Glad I am finally able to work on something for one of these challenges again now that it kinda fits in with a class project I have to get done. So here is my WIP.

UPDATE 2:

Link to WIP thread, sorry for bogging down the main thread.

I have the major texture work for the mid size incubator finished, just need to go in and add some hoses and other minor details. I also finished the low poly and textures for the man sized alien that goes in the mid size incubator tube.

Oh, man! That Teapot in the incubation tube is just hilarious! I know it's supposed to be a reference only, but I wish I had that idea. Could be a great image of a 3D artists desk with all kinds of deformed teapots lying around and one rather good looking in a big incubation tube

Well anway,... that creature of yours looks really good! The base mesh was done with zBrush I imagine, right? Very fine model so far!

Greetings,
Alex

i didnt even notice the Teapot LOL,...

anyway...my progress is coming along...i am building up the scene first...and its taking a while to model up all the assets, and create the textures....just need 1 or 2 more things for the scene now...although they are quite crucial things that could take a while to model.

then i can work on the actual incubator...is it weird that i am leaving ot to last? especially seeing as the whole contest revolves around it?...maybe i'm weird then.
