Default Throne - Feb contest

I've tried many times to enter these contests, but I never finish what I start, so I'm hoping this WIP thread will give me some motivation.

My idea is to create a Sea Witch Throne. I wanted it to be attractive, but not too friendly, so I included lots of spikey shells, claws and tentacles. The environment will consist of a raised platform, created out of more coral, or possibly sculptured waves, with a curtain backdrop of bubble strands and kelp.

Here's a first rough layout of the concept:

Great start!
I love the curvature of the tentacle. Would like to see more.

Default Claw

Here's one arm of the throne. The other arm will probably be the same model, but one claw will be slightly larger than the other.

Default Seatback

Not thrilled with the seat back, seems like it's missing something....but going to keep moving forward

For now, I think I'm done modeling the throne. Time to start texturing and working on a background:

Thx aseryen! I'm using Mudbox to paint my textures. It's actually the first time I'm using mudbox, so I'm learning as I go.
