Awards Showcase

Default Battle Worn_W.I.P

Hi all!

This is my wip for this month’s contest, Battle Worn.

Hope I will have time to finish my work.

This is a rough sketch of my work, hope you guys like it.

This sketch shows an ending of a fight between two gorillas, the one that lost is being carried on a stretcher by a group of monkeys, and the winner is about to get marred to the female gorilla, they just fought for.

The positioning of the scene will be altered, this sketch is just the idea.
Critics are more then welcome.

I like the forms on the gorilla....he's in his victory stance? looks pretty cool, the arms and torso are really coming along...toes are getting a little stringy, but I really like the head mass too. Nice work , can't wait to see Mrs Gorilla !

Hi John Anthony, thanks for your comment.
Not sure about his position, I think I will make him hitting his chest, you know like gorillas do after a victory

do try to check out some reference, the legs and butt seam a bit off... u might want to consider the style also... photo realistic fur, sylised sculpt fur... and check for their poses also, they tend to have a very arched back and even more while standing up...

hope to see more

I don't know about chest hitting.. I tend towards the embrace pose, as it would convey feelings towards the birde, the monkeys that are carrying away the wounded (his new peeps). I think the anatomy is cool as a hybrid, gorialla / homo sapien. My reasoning is both, pose and density, give a very old school wrestler('50s) type feel to it. A little flabby, but powerful. If you have lots of fur , that would been fun too...patches of the stuff ripped off for battel damage (Kong!!)

Keep 'em coming..
