Default The Wall WIP (a slightly different approach)

My concept for this theme is a bit different than others...I'm trying to do an image of a baby in a crib clutching at the bars of his "jail" from the eyes of the baby. In essence, the crib is the wall. The most difficult part of this idea is modeling the baby's hands and forearms...especially if sculpting isn't allowed.

Which bedcover do you like more, image 4 or 5?

Please give any critiques and be harsh (very harsh).

-Funddevi

P.S. I wanted to say thanks Gnomon for judging based on concept and not graphics -- at least then I have a slim chance of winning 4th

Image 3 is my concept for camera angle and such.

P.S. Don't hesitate to ask for more pictures.

EDIT: Please note if the crib looks out of scale to the room.

What do you mean by sculpting isn't allowed?

What I mean is can you use digital sculpting in the 3D contests or is it only in the Digital sculpting contests? (Can I use Zbrush to detail a base model?)

More updates soon.

Hi funddevi I think you can, because under the 3D images section it sais “Add your best 3D images: Maya, Max, Zbrush, etc.”

Cool, thanks for the reply.

Can anyone give me pointers on how to model a young child's hands?

Default Kept from the fun

Ok, here's a new concept... Hopefully I can figure out how radiosity works so I can make the glow without postprocessing.

Critique!

-Funddevi

EDIT: Maybe I should post the image...

You can use whatever tools you like...Zbrush, Mudbox, etc.

The sculpting competition is strictly sculpting.

Thanks for that page Blackdragon, it'll help with detailing the hands...

Ah, the renderer is Blender's internal one (which I think is awful)...and the only reason I'm using that is that none of my scripts are working right now so I can't export into another renderer

Here's my current progress on the hands, they still need major refinement but I don't think they're too bad for my first try. They are full sized hands right now but I will shrink them down and fatten them up a bit for use of the baby.
