is the 31st of January the last term to submit works for the contest? I'm working on my concept but have to know how many days are left (by default i'm quite slow, and this month's work schedules don't help for sure )

Hello JamesPavitt!

Which software did you use for this? I like the idea and how the environment looks really under water!

The critic I have is that I don't see much details of the sea creature. If I see this image I think more the name is like the "Submarine"
Maybe put more details or suround the Submarine with the hands of the octopus.

They're just my opinions, and what you do with them is up to you

Good Luck!

Hey JamesPavitt, nice work on the atmosphere... u really get the depth into the image.

Some crits... might be the comp i?m using (work comp, really sucks) but i don't only see the sub blurry (like in motion) but the other stuff too. If you got it focused as cam movement in the whole scene then ok... but there would be some nice detail to check out on the sub and cave...

Likewise on the oct crit... okay we see part of it but what?s really the main thing here is the sub and it?d be better if you could show a bit more of the sea creature...

Nice detail on the small fishes swimming around and the cave look is pretty cool, nice color mixes and light...

I?m no expert so don?t take it this too seriously.. just a thought...

Awards Showcase

Default AnglerFish

Hi everyone,

Here's my January "Sea Creature" entree,

It's based upon the AnglerFish. There are about 200 different species of them, and so I just combined different references for my particular creature. I couldn't find too many good photos of them, so I improvised and made it a bit more prehistoric.

3dsMax, Zbrush, Photoshop

Cheers,

Default Achiteuthus

Inspired by actual old photos of giant squid found on the coast around 1900. Done with Vue, 3D Studio, Poser and Photoshop. Hope you like it
