Awards Showcase

Default Treehouse

For this image I did a bunch of initial sketches with black and white charcoal on green painter's masking paper, which allows me to lay down a lot ideas quickly and establish my values. Also sketching out with charcoal, hopefully helps to give the image a bit more organic feel. After that I scanned it and painted it in PS CS.

Alrighty then. I'm new here but I have been lurking for awhile and of course there was this link posted by another member at imaginefx and well.....Wow, a monthly contest and a chance to win those awsome DVD's. It's worth a shot.
Good luck everyone and thanx to Gnomon for this chance.

Hope you guys like it.
I figured I would throw in something that still has that "Magic of Christmass" feel to it. Excellent challange. Loved doing this one if even just for the fun of it.

Hi there,

i am new to this forum. previousy i just stopped by from time to time to take a look around, but as soon as i noticed the noble awarded contests i just had to join ^^ ... (75 DVDs in total? that's kinda insane )

school kept me busy the last few days, but today i decided participate in the contest and started to paint right away....i hope to post the final image soon....depends on how much time i have to spend on school & christmas

there are some really nice contributions so far.....i hope to see even more stuff till end of december...it's always nice to see a dozen of different interpretations of the same topic

Tricky challenge indeed.. and good because it's more specific than the previous challenges. Most artists have a couple of enviromentals (ie. the november landscape challenge) lying around in the dusty corners of their hard drives but I doubt many have examples of snowy tree houses. Which leads to many works of the works submitted now are probably created exclusively for this competition.
As it should be in my humble opinion

Here is my entry produced in Photoshop with a Wacom. I designed this as a hi-tech lookout tower or den, emulating the features of a natural tree. I thought it was a nice departure from taking the brief very literally. Enjoy, and Merry Christmas guys
