Hehe, I didn't even realize people were posting WIPs here, too. ^^

Well check out mine in the WIP section or here <link>.

There's some great stuff coming along again. I like yours too gaf. Interesting approach on the theme. The rock still looks kinda synthetic, can't really tell why though. I think the dark shading in the shadowy areas is just too black.

So long, good luck.

Alex

i tried to add some mystery and drama to the scene... i thought it was working, if i have time i will see what i can do, but have a presentation to sort out for work and a hundred other things to do, so i probably won't have time to

This one is semi-autobiographical... I don't know if I'm done, but I'm heading to siggraph so I may not have time to fix it up.

Here is my first attempt at a Gnomon Contest.
I was inspired by a Longshan Temple in Taipei (Taiwan) which has a lot of amazing ornaments. take a look over here (sadly I stayed away from modeling them: not comfortable enough with Zbrush yet)

It's been a lot of R&D for my part, I'm still not totally happy with what I came up with (I still might do some tweaking) but heh I'll do better next time, it's a matter of experiencing different things and those contests are a great way to find inspiration and motivation.

Good luck everyone.

Default mayan temple

Here's my submission for the month.

It was done all in Maya and took about an hour to render. I ended up ditching the really complex sky-lighting model I was going for and went with a simpler approach. If I had a copy of Photoshop, I'd probably try to make it a little more painterly, but I'm happy with the end result.

Everyone's submissions look really well done so far!

Okay, here is my final:

Did the modeling in ZBrush, 3DsMax, painted the maps on Photoshop then brought everything to VUE. Used lots of procedural maps and trees for this one.

You can check my wip here: Renan Leser Mountain Temple WIP.

Best luck for everyone,

Renan Leser.

Hi all.

Here is my entry. I was going for an aztec kind of feel. It was done in Maya and Gimp for the texturing. Good luck everyone. Some great entries this month as usual...
