Default Maya animation problem

My model has turbine engines, complete with blades, that I want to animate/rotate.

After attaching the engines to the rest of the model, animating the blades to rotate 360 around the Z-axis causes the blades to eventually spin off center. As you can see, the wing/engines are sitting at a 15 angle to the ground and this is probably causing the blades to rotate on the world axis.

How do I reset the pivot point for the rotational axis, or, how do I compensate for the offset pivot?

I just rebuilt the engines so that they are perpendicular to the ground. My math sucks the big one and I'm not about to take a month off to study Quaternions.

Euler, I can handle, as long as I confine my animated rotations to a single axis.
