hi,
i used maya, zbrush and photoshop. for the eyes i tried alex?s technique from the free tutorials section and it worked very well (i guess, that is something alex always likes to hear, right? the iris texture is a photoghraph i took from my own eyes. the eyeball texture i painted in photoshop and also used some paintfx roots). i also used a photograph of my own skin, tweaked it and used this as an alpha in zbrush to get a nice looking skin surface for the guy. in short: your own body can become a great reference library for many purposes.
perhaps uninteresting, but if anybody wants to know, here are some thoughts behind this image: this guy?s eye sockets are damaged, so the eyes can?t be held inside the head and he has to wear some kind of an eyeholder. the eyes are still connected with its own optical nerve (you don?t see much of them due to the camera angle), so he?s still able to watch. also, his arms are tied uped underneath his flame leather armor, which works like a strait jacket. the only way to keep the eyes from hanging down is to hold the eyeholder with his teeth. you can imagine that he hardly becomes a motormouth.
anyway, he?s not perfect, but i hope you like the image. and if you would open the door and he stood in front of you, you wouldn?d deny him some sweets, would you?
