@ipranawake:
Hey that tribal throne looks like a great start
Did you use a plugin for that, like Xfrog or did you model the branches by hand?

@luteis:
I already saw your WIP before, I love those textures! The crabs arm just looks incredibly great
Is it gonna be an under water scene?

Well, I'll work some more on my entry, before I post something, I feel like I always jinx it by posting too many WIPs

have fun everyone!
Greetz,
Alex

I modelled everything by hand ..... I think it has more control (For me) ... J ust simple box modelling .. Picking polygons and extruding them along splines ... a daunting task but gives out good results ... its easy but time consuming ...

Very good luck to you at the contest eightball ... thanks .....

Thx Eightball, yep I'm gonna try to light it as an underwater scene. Guess I'm gonna have to read up on how to do that properly

Hi Luteis,
If you want to setup an underwater environment, please have a look at the Gnomon workshop DVDs:
Maya Dynamics - underwater environment
Creating a dynamic shot with John Clark.

It is very intersting.
Hope it helps.

mh, there was a real great little tutorial on lighting on cgtalk.com a while ago. The guy used the deck of ship he modeled and lit it in diefferent ways... anyone got the link for that?
I think there was an underwater environment as well, that might be a nice help.
I'll see if I can find it.

Greetz,
Alex
