Awards Showcase

Default Behemoth

Well, better late than never.

Thought I would go for an inanimate slant on this theme.
So...... rhinocerus + steam train + satanic lighting.
Modelled in 3ds Max.
Textures are parametric and painted.
Multiple lighting renders.
Comp & painting in PS with some photo source for steam.

Influenced by David Shepherd's paintings of steam trains.

I only found this site and the contest yesterday, and thus only had about 5 hours to work on a submission. Unfortunately I was unable to finish it, and won't win anything, but I figured I'd post what I have so far... Maybe I can try to enter an upcoming contest, and have a little more time to prepare.

My concept was of a huge guy. Sort of a cross between the Hulk, and one of the Persian Freaks from 300.

It looks like there is some great stuff being posted here, and I look forward to seeing the other submissions.

BTW, This was submitted at 10:20 Mountain time, so hopefully it's still on time.

Thank you IronRock,

Sunnyvega- congratulations, your image has such a great style, it makes it look like a scene from an American folk lore tale. Beautifully painted

Shawshank- I really like attention and use of reflections, your image has so much energy

I can't wait for next month's topic

I love the starbucks guy, I would also love to see him with a trendy man purse, or a little rat dog
