This made me think of an interesting and true story. My dad worked 400 miles from anything in the middle of Algeria, and one day it snowed. First time in 2K years, according to all records.

Great stuff guys

I've just managed to finish up a piece before I head away for my holidays. Three sweet weeks of drinking beers in the sun if all goes to plan.

Anyway - here's my idea of Winter Wonderland:

Hey guys, I'm new here. Nice stuff so far!

I was just wondering, what is the exact deadline for this month's submissions?

Also, are Canadians eligible for this? Thanks!

Hi, figured I'd try my luck and enter this one. Good luck everyone!

kriegfish: that's really funny! Sumo Santa! lol

sintraceur: snowing in the desert, now that's unique, and would sure be a wonderland for the people living there

Kutkin: I love the christmas lights on the castle, it looks really magical

And here's my entry, done in Photoshop:

And another version with snow(I can't decide which I like better)

Actual size: 3150x1500.

Hey there, this is my first submission to this awesome monthly contest! My name's Jeremy and I'm an animation student at Sheridan College, Ontario. I've always loved painting and only recently started doing digital painting. I found out about this contest because I just bought the Ryan Church intro to painter DVD from you guys and LOVED IT! It helped me so much and I hope that new knowledge comes through in this piece (can't wait to start another).

Anyway, as I said I live in Canada so this winter wonderland theme came somewhat intuitively to me. All I have to do is look outside my window and voila! (No joke, when I started the sketch it was snowing way more intensely than in the picture). Haha.. but, this actual image was inspired by my love for walks back and forth from school late at night, bundled up with my hoods (yes, plural), with the snow howling around me. That's what I tried to convey in this piece. Hope you enjoy it, and good luck to everyone.
