Default Couple of new pics

Hello again folks, here are a few more pictures of the new maquette coming together. The props I am using thus far ie the sword and spyglass and a basic layer of sculpey and rough positioning on the base. I decided yesterday that this maquette will be an homage to a comic I have come to love over the past few years called Mouseguard, and one of its primary characters "Saxon". This will be my first free standing maquette, being that rather then permanently fixing saxon to the base, he will be able to me removed in order to make painting and final assembly much easier. I have only layed down a basic layer of sculpey at this point to get an idea of where I am going to end up. Enjoy and please let loose with comments and critiques.. it is very rare I have a chance to get these things looked over before they are finished.

Thankyou again Roc, it really does mean alot to me that people enjoy these things. Now if I could just find a job doing them (or any art job that actually puts my degrees to good use).. I would be the happiest little art nerd on the whole planet. But anyway.. I have all day today off.. so the sculpt will likely be finished tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Pictures will be coming in as I make progress. - Lane

Default One more picture

Alright, this will likely be the last of the picture uploads before I finish off this piece. I will snap more pics of paint and final assembly this time. But I will save adding those until after the final product is finished. But this, minus the few bit of sculpting left to finish, a few final details, and the attachment of the props, is basically what the final product will look like. - Lane

Default One Last Pic

Alright, I figured I would add one more pic before I bake, paint, and overall finish this puppy off. I am extremely happy with how it's turning out, but I am still not sure of how it will look in the end once it's painted and all the props are added. So.. here's hoping that Saxon survives the oven tomorrow. - Lane

Yeah.. photography isn't really my strong suit. But i'll make it work. I'm gonna take new pictures here in a little while, once I have a little more sunlight. - Lane

Re-took the final entry pic for my saxon maquette, and I am much happier with this one. I am seriously proud of the final product. Pop into my gallery to check out the images of it coming together and please feel free to leave any comments or questions about my process, i'd be happy to help in any way that I can. Thanks everyone! - Lane

And if you're interested, I have more pics of process for past projects, as well as a fair bit of Concept Art up here. http://laneconcepts.blogspot.com/
