Default Weathered Trail

Here is my entry for this month. I thought this was a good opportunity for a landscape painting. A weathered trail.

Hi zweidee,
Welcome to the club This has been quite the discussion on this forum over the past many months. The administrators never really stated that it is forbidden to submit a pre-existing work that fits the theme. However, that being said, they also never said it was legit to go ahead and submit something that wasn't created specifically for this contest. It has become a discussion among the contributers to this forum, and the consensus seems to be that it is highly frowned upon to submit existing artwork that was not generated for this challenge. It gives that artist an unfair advantage over the others in the sense that they were not constricted by time, and could have spent the longest time polishing their piece, where as others had to scramble and spend what little free time they have to bring their piece up to par. This is a monthly challenge with a deadline, and it should be treated that way. Please create original artwork specifically for these challenges, and everyone will be in the same boat with an even shot at winning.

If anyone disagrees, please chime in.

I don't necessarily disagree or agree.

I'm sure people have won before using previously made images. Personally, I'd rather post a freshly made image just because it helps me get better but I wouldn't look down on someone for submitting a previously made image; partly because it's not it the rules, and partly because I'd probably never know unless they said it was already made before the contest.
