Default winners announced!

So here are the winners for July! Could you have a greater range of style? heh.
Congratz, and thank you so much to all who participated. There were many many submissions in the last round, and as usual, it was a difficult choice.

Attn winners: PM me for info on how to collect your prizes.

Most of the places always gets rewarded to 2D pictures so it seems, lots of stunning 2D pictures usually. I can understand if alot of 3D ppl would feel bummed never seeing more than 1 at most among the chosen pictures, considering the amount of time alot of 3D artists put into their work

Maybe they should have seperate competitions, since 3D pictures rarely stand a chance, or maybe not, since there's usually a bit of "2D involved" with touching the picture up in Photoshop.

The only thing I'm personally not really fond of, is people who just submit a picture they say posted some months ago on CGSociety or whichever site they first submitted it to. I believe a competition should promote ppl to try work for the current months theme, instead of just minimally retouching (if at all) a picture they already made before the current month's competiton.

Either way, it's great to see Gnomon Workshop have these competitions, and that the chosen winners also get picked for their ideas rather than the quality of the picture always.

:thumbs up:

PS. Oh and my fav pic for this month came in 2nd place, just thought it was very interesting, congratulations to everyone

Awards Showcase

The average quality of artworks will always go in favor of the 2D. You can take ANY challange there ever was on CGSociaey and see it for yourself (and I say this as someone who took part in these contests both as a challenger and as a judge), that is why they allwais judged them seperately.
3D has even a smaller chance when you are given less then a month to model, texture, light, render, postwork your artwork ...
