My 1st work in Maya 7.0

Great start. A few pointers though:

1. The walls of your first scene look nice, but the pot fades to complete black, which is very "cg" looking. (kinda like lens flares) Try making another light that is very dim to subtly add light to the shadowed side. If the new light brighens the floor or walls too much, just link the fill light (that's what they are generally refered to as) to the pot and not the rest of the scene. If you don't know how to do that, search for "light linking" in Maya's help file, or try cgtalk.com

2. Turn on shadows for your second scene. It will add more realism and depth.
