Hello my name is Joe Slucher and I'm one of those struggling freelance illustrators. So far I've mainly just worked for role-playing game companies. Here's some of my work. There's a lot more work on my website.

Glad you like that first pic JLA. It seems to be a popular one. By the way, not struggling so much this month, woo hoo!

I've worked on Great White Games' Pirates of the Spanish Main, Mongoose Publishing's Glorantha, Silven Publishing, JAGS, Inciteful Entertainment's Perfect, Dark Skull Studios' New Gods of Mankind, and an upcoming game from Rvdis Games called 43AD. I also did a few things for The Spoils CCG.
Anyways, here's some more work.

Also, I put together a tutorial for 2D Artist Mag that came out this month. The writing is a little rough but I promise next month's will be much better.

Some lovely work there, congrats.
If you are taking suggestions, I think that some of the poses could be a bit more dynamic. Take the two arguing over the war strategy, I dont really believe that she is angry (i think his pose is better though).
Also, I think you should dirty up your work some more with textures etc. I think you nailed that in the Pumpkin painting, but for example in the battle scene, it feels too clean to be a gritty, bloody battle.
I really like the first piece too, i think it looks awesome, the design is great.
Keep it up, I enjoy your work and look forward to seeing more.

Nick-Always happy to hear suggestions. Thank you.
So I ended up working more on that image I posted early October for the contest. So here's an updated version. I'm moving on from this and will be posting a slightly cleaner version on my site soon.

By the way, if anybody who has previously seen this thread, is wondering what happened to all of the Roman pics, I accidentally deleted them from my webspace. My provider changed the gui for my file manager and so I accidentally deleted a folder while trying to figure out the new setup. I hadn't backed up my files in a while.
