do particles effects?

Hi,
i was wondering what kind of gnomon dvd tutorial was the ideal to do strokes, lighting rays, sparks?
Any idea or tutorial to do this type of things.?
I do architectural stuff, but i want to do too this type of effects into my indi short film.

Gnomon DVD's on Dynamics (parts 2,4,5,6 especialy) there you will have a wide range of effects that you can do to do strokes, lighting rays, sparks !
Sprites too help you get good results , it does work fast too!
