His work has always impressed me with the level of detail and the crispeness of his form. It always looked like every detail was carefully thought out and placed right there. As though there could be no other place for it but where he had already placed it.

This ability to create realistic creatures is something Jeff has had for a long time. He is not a formally trained artist and came to digital art later in life. Once he was in it, though, he was in it for good. Right now, he is a co-owner of Reflexive Entertainment and a consultant.

Jeff’s tutorial covers many thing but one of them is something that I learned early on from Jeff and that I have incorporated into all of my ZBrush classes: how to create crisp details.
